Portrait of a Woman II

Pencil drawing, “Portrait of a Woman II” by Don West, Artist
7.5”x7.5”, drawn in a Moleskine Sketchpad
with a Faber-Castell Pitt Graphite Matt 14B pencil.

I’ve been drawing as usual lately but lazy at posting. Two reasons, bursitis in my elbow had me feeling feverish and crummy so I slept a lot. And the drawings were from a couple of ZOOM live modeling sessions which are great practice but produce little post worthy work. A couple were okay so I’ll post those later.

This one is another unknown model from a YouTube video on blocking in a head. I followed along for a bit then fast forwarded to see if the artist managed to get a likeness. Not really. So I decided to go it alone and see how I’d do. Not a true likeness but close. The eye is not positioned properly. It passes as a drawing but not so much a likeness. But hey, I’m making progress and having fun doing it so all is well.🙂👍
